I do not know what possessed me to start a blog. Seems like the thing to do nowdays.
Perhaps part of it is wanting to write something that is not on paper or in a book that I might misplace. My computer is much too big to lose! I just hope I can find my blog again, LOL.
I spend altogether too much time on line. There is so much to learn, so many people to meet that have similar interests, and so many things to see here that I would never see IRL.
My passion for pictures has severely limited the speed of the 'puter (according to DS) because I save, save, save beautiful things I see. My bookmarks list could probably circle the globe at least once. I guess I am an information junkie, too.
My main interest since retiring is painting. Oils (landscape, floral, still life) , acrylics (folk art), and colored pencil are my preferred mediums at the moment. I have only dabbled in watercolor, and would like to try pastels. *Sigh* maybe in my second life. Right.
Seriously, I put off my art interest for years until I had time for it, and regret that I didn't make more time for it sooner. My foray into crafts in the early 90's led me to learn to tole/decorative paint. I had a great teacher, and would still go to her classes if she hadn't retired, too.
I am quite addicted to patterns and pattern books; need to sell some and downsize.
Oh, well...someday. For now, ebay must wait...the laundry is calling me.

Well, here i am...trying this blog thingy again. I almost forgot I set one up!
ReplyDeleteI have had a busy time the last , geesh, 2 years, and kind of quit doing pretty much of everything I used to do.
So, trying to get myself to do stuff again.
I have recently gotten interested in Zentangles, and am reading about them and want to try some since I spend time in front of the TV doodling (which is NOT the same thing!). Thought I might as well make something more useful.
Evidently the tangling thing is really "in", so might as well get on the bandwagon, albeit a bit later than a lot of people.
All you need is a micron pen and 3.5" squares of certain papers...
will refer you to
http://www.zentangle.com
Go to the source! When you get into it, you will find lots of websites with tangles and tanglers; many are certified zentangle teachers....there is a philosophy of zentangles, too...see the zentangle website.
I also have intentions of trying my hand at beading....I know, why when I have a k-gillion
painting books/patterns to do, supplies, etc....
well, my painting has fallen off in the last 2 years for reasons I'll not go into, but mainly the bulk and weight of the supplies and my not doing stairs unless I absolutely have to do so.
(stuff is in the basement).
Now don't get me wrong, I still love to paint. I am still addicted to wanting to paint so many things...and enjoy it when I do pick up my brushes again. Am going to see if I can go to one of the oils classes this month.
Well, I'll see. Going to try to post more, too.
Have a goode day!
